Two major award wins for Nexia at the Digital Accountancy Awards 2021

Nexia International (Nexia), a leading, global network of independent accounting and consulting firms is delighted to announce that it has been named Network of the Year, at the Digital Accountancy Awards 2021 and Kevin Arnold, Nexia’s CEO, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The annual event, which takes place in London celebrates all that is best and most innovative in modern accounting. For the 10th year running, it brings together leading accounting firms, regulators, and industry bodies; consultancies and advisors, law firm and tech vendors to debate the key challenges impacting the accountancy sector and the opportunities for growth that they represent.

The network has had tremendous growth over the years and celebrated its position of rising one place since last year to become the 8th largest global accounting network, as measured by fee income. In 2020, Nexia's total fee income was USD4.5bn across the network - an increase of 5% on 2019.

Developing a new strategy built by members to achieve further growth for the network, delivery of initiatives involving over 17,000 Nexians promoting Nexia’s brand proposition, sharing knowledge through over 85 virtual events in the past year and adopting best in class technological solutions have been key to why the network has won this prestigious award.

Kevin Arnold’s role in the success of the network has been critical. His leadership, strategic vision and ‘Member first’ mantra has led to Nexia becoming a top 10 network across the globe. Being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award acknowledges Kevin’s role and his dedication to the network.

“The Judges were impressed by the network’s achievement of a 5-year strategy, which included increased focus on the adoption of the global branding platform, enhanced member firm collaboration to win, retain and service transnational clients and the implementation of best-in-class technological solutions.

Cementing an outstanding period of progression, Nexia advanced one place in the global rankings to 8th position, with aggregate fee revenues of over 4.5bn dollars.” Digital Accountancy Awards.

“10 years ago Kevin Arnold was appointed CEO of Nexia International – the network was ranked 12th at the time. Under his leadership, Nexia has grown substantially, doubled the aggregate fee income to $4.5m dollars and has risen through the networks ranks to 8th position globally. “Rising through the ranks” is undoubtedly the correct phrase, as Kevin was a Colonel in the army in his previous career! His experience in building effective working teams has been the key to his success and that of Nexia International.” Digital Accountancy Awards.

Kevin Arnold, CEO of Nexia International, said: “This is a momentous occasion for the network. We won the Rising Star Network award back in 2013 and have come so far in terms of our reach, growth, how the network operates and the value we deliver to member firms. This award has been won by our firms, individual committee members and an amazing Global Office Team.

The network has grown from strength to strength, and I am sure this will continue with the new CEO, Tim Wilson. It has been a privilege to serve and help shape the Nexia network over the years and thank you to the Digital Accountancy Awards for awarding me with the Lifetime Achievement Award”.

The judging panel included Jon Lisby, FCA FIIA Director from Global Alliance Advisory Services, Chris Biggs, Partner at Theta Global Advisors, Rob Brown, Founder of the BD Academy and Christine Nicholson who has won UK Business Mentor of the Year 2020.
